St. Joseph’s Day & Return of the Swallows Celebration is a beloved annual tradition at Mission San Juan Capistrano, marking the historic return of the swallows and honoring St. Joseph through music, culture, and community. Held throughout the Mission grounds, the event features the ringing of the historic bells, live performances, student presentations, Native American storytelling and demonstrations, and guided interpretive tours that bring the Mission’s history to life.
